Sandra Pettit
Sandra is the owner and backbone of Sustainable Touch and instrumental in all aspects of its development, from land purchase to hand's on construction to business development. Built on an ideology that is small footprint based and an attitude that nature is restorative, this wilderness retreat is a place to regroup, re-focus and recover.
A background in health, Sandra has an Honours degree in Kinesiology and is a licensed massage therapist practicing both Swedish and Thai modalities. With a brown belt in karate and formerly a personal trainer, Sandra integrates strengthening and stretching into her massage routine.
Linking music to health, Sandra is an avid musician, bringing music into the mainstream at ST. Getting the right tunes to pump it out in a fitness class or jamming with fellow musicians into the wee hours, music is "therapy" and a common language. Come dance, sing, beat a drum and generally get your groove on.
Rachael Hancock-Pettit
Sandra’s daughter, Rachael is a Kinesiologist with a BSc from UofT. Her early involvement with karate (2nd Degree Black Belt) has spawned a desire for fitness and health and she has taught karate and cardio classes at various fitness clubs. Also an RMT with a focus on sports massage, she works with professional athletes and couch potatoes alike and took part in the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto. She has her coaching certification and loves working with kids big and small, young and not so young, motivating everyone for their personal best.
Rachael has worked in multidisciplinary teams with chiropractors, physiotherapists and other health professionals, optimizing keen assessment skills for the best treatment plan. Rachael plays an integral role in the development and roll-out of Sustainable Touch. Ultimately cool, she demands her best and yours - whether a fitness class or a massage, you'll want to re-book.
